GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Operational Support Systems Engineer is a mission-critical role that directly supports the company’s global Operation & Maintenance (O&M) activities. You will be responsible for defining, designing, implementing, and supporting the operational infrastructure systems essential for the efficient operation and maintenance of our offshore wind portfolio. This position involves overseeing the selection, delivery and operation of various critical systems—including marine communications, vessel tracking, metocean measurements, general-purpose connectivity, and CCTV—throughout the development, construction, and operational phases of our portfolio. You will lead the end-to-end lifecycle for critical operational support systems, focusing on performance, integration, and standardization across our fleet : System Leadership & Integration : Lead the specification, design, implementation, and integration of core operational support systems, including : CCTV and VOIP Systems Field general-purpose connectivity systems (WIFI, LTE / 4G / 5G) Compliance and Commissioning : Identify project stakeholders and ensure that operational support systems strictly comply with internal standards and third-party requirements. Support the commissioning of these systems to guarantee correct operation and seamless integration into the company’s fleet-wide platform and tools. Standards and Innovation : Collaborate closely with the Operational Infrastructure and Performance team to develop and maintain company standards for the efficient integration of new assets. Proactively identify and recommend innovative systems to continuously improve the delivery and capability of operational support systems across our assets.
A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (i.e., Computer networks, Industrial Automation, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering) is required. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience working with similar complex systems, with a strong focus on industrial, offshore wind, or marine operational environments is mandatory
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate expertise in the following areas : Operational Technology (OT) : Proficiency in designing, deploying, and integrating operational support systems (as listed in Main Accountabilities). Experience with the full project lifecycle, from early requirements definition to commissioning and project handover. Strong understanding of network infrastructure, industrial hardware, and modern Operational Technology (OT) requirements. Familiarity with SCADA and Asset Integrity Monitoring systems. Data & Systems : Strong grasp of cloud computing principles. Familiarity of weather and wind resource measurement technologies. Experience with risk analysis and techno-economic modelling. substations, export cables) and wind turbine / farm topologies. Project Management.
