You will work in teams of 3-5 consultants supporting private investor clients throughout the deal lifecycle, including diligence, value creation, and exit support.

This role involves assessing market attractiveness, providing financial analysis, and communicating findings effectively. You will work directly with portfolio companies on their value creation strategies and become a subject matter expert in investor-related topics.

Training will be provided to enhance your problem-solving, synthesis, and communication skills. You will build trust-based relationships with clients, develop your leadership style, and work effectively with diverse teams.

In your initial years, you will serve as an associate across multiple client engagements, gaining broad experience in private investor settings and intersecting with digital, implementation, and analytics capabilities.

Your role is focused on serving investor clients and their portfolio companies, with staffing dedicated to client engagements. Flexibility exists to hire at associate or junior associate level based on experience.

You will be based in Madrid or Barcelona as part of our Private Equity & Principal Investors (PEPI) practice, the world’s leading advisor to the PEPI industry.

Collaborate with clients and the wider McKinsey network, including experts across various domains. You will receive ongoing mentorship and support from colleagues and a professional development manager to align projects with your priorities.

Undergraduate or master’s degree

3+ years of work experience post-degree

Experience in investment banking, private equity, or venture capital, with exposure to transactions or working in PE / VC-backed companies (a plus)

Investor mindset and interest in private equity, real estate, or venture capital

Collaborative team player with inclusivity at all levels

Ability to independently manage workstreams within broader projects

Comfort with ambiguity and change

Strong quantitative problem-solving skills

Effective communication in Spanish and English
