Key Responsibilities :
Network professionals are responsible for designing, configuring and maintaining Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) and Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
They must monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, latency problems and security threats.
Implementing network security measures is essential, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems to safeguard the network.
Managing routers, switches, load balancers and other networking equipment is a key part of this role.
Supporting voice, video and data communication systems is also required.
Conducting regular system upgrades, patches and preventive maintenance is necessary to ensure optimal network performance.
Maintaining accurate network documentation, diagrams and standard operating procedures is crucial. Collaboration with IT teams and vendors is necessary to support business operations and new initiatives. Providing technical assistance for network-related incidents and service requests is vital. Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, data protection regulations and industry standards is essential.
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical thinking and excellent communication skills. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is typically required. Additionally, relevant work experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
