Finance Controller (Corporate & Reporting)

Velto Renewables (Velto), a subsidiary of La Caisse (Caisse de dépôt et placement de Québec), is looking for a M&A and Transaction Manager to join its team in Madrid, Spain.

Velto and its subsidiaries currently hold a portfolio of operating solar PV and wind assets of c. 300+ MW located in Spain and France and manages La Caisse’s 25% investment in the operation offshore wind farm London Array (630 MW) located in the UK, likewise, it is developing a portfolio of 1GW solar PV projects in Iberia. It is anticipated that Velto grows its investment and management portfolio to other technologies and other geographies in the upcoming months.

The Financial Controller (FC) will manage and execute relevant financial tasks for Velto and will be part of the strategic business support to further develop Velto as a financially sound organization. The FC will conduct controlling tasks and will support day-to-day financial needs such as budgeting, reporting, enable corporate processes. It will also provide support to special projects such as project financing, tax re-structuring, financial and tax due diligences in strategic transactions, etc.

Responsibilities

• Monthly closing review and analysis;
• Accounting : monitor daily bookings, support audit, need to understand consolidation rules;
• Internal financial and operating control : willingness to standardize procedures (implementation of ERP and other tools to optimize controlling standards);
• Reporting : prepare and provide monthly, quarterly and year-end financials in an accurate and timely manner;
• Tax : ability to discuss and deal with tax requirements;
• Budgeting preparation, monthly reconciliation and deviation analysis;
• Prepare SHL, UPL, distributions, and other intercompany financing instruments;
• Cash Management : will prepare batches and oversee Treasury;
• Cash Flow forecasting and analysis;
• Support managing credit agreements and its covenants;
• Debt service follow up. Prepare a quarterly / biannually update on debt schedule repayment including the interest calculation;
• Monitor and support the financial, accounting and commercial activities of the external asset management team;
• Support the development of financial and administration organizational policies.
• Support the financial, tax, modelling advisors in M&A due diligence processes;
• Support special projects such as tax re-structuring or purchase price allocation (as part of the integration processes of acquired assets);
• Support the Asset Management team in the integration of new assets;
• Invoicing : Prepare and keep the group’s invoicing up to date;
