Technical Lead (Blockchain)

We’re looking for a Tech Lead to guide a cross-functional software engineering team. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who wants to scale their impact by shaping the blockchain architecture of DeFi protocols and mentoring developers. As the technical leader, you’ll guide your team in delivering high-impact, scalable, and maintainable solutions, driving technical design, engineering best practices, and fostering collaboration across product, design, and operations. Location : We hire with a focus on Dubai and Europe. For this role, we prefer candidates who are either based in Dubai or working remotely within + / - 4 hours GST time.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical direction of projects, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and long-term platform goals
• Own and evolve the micro-architecture, ensuring protocols are composable, modular, scalable, and maintainable
• Guide the team in applying best architectural and security practices, and gas optimisations
• Shape long‑term protocol roadmap, balancing new DeFi features with platform stability and security
• Actively contribute high-quality code (approximately 30–50% of your time), focusing on critical components, prototypes, and performance-sensitive areas
• Set and enforce coding standards, code structure, and review practices across the team
• Troubleshoot and optimise complex systems, ensuring observability, fault tolerance, and performance tuning are integral to the design
• Lead technical planning and estimation, ensuring realistic timelines and scalable designs
• Balance delivering new features with refactoring and reducing technical debt
• Champion best practices in CI / CD, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing to ensure rapid, reliable deployments
