Health, Safety and Quality Section Head

Overview

IRB Barcelona seeks to recruit a Health and Safety Section Head, part of the People and Academic Affairs Department, to oversee its in-house Health and Safety Service and to develop a safe working environment in compliance with legal regulations, while promoting a strong culture of health and safety awareness across the institute.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the in-house Health & Safety Service in collaboration with the external prevention service.
• Draft, update and monitor Health & Safety documentation.
• Organize, coordinate and monitor risk assessments, regular site inspections, emergency procedures and the dissemination of information to all employees.
• Coordinate medical check‑ups.
• Plan and monitor annual Health & Safety actions.
• Monitor, investigate and report on workplace accidents and incidents.
• Liaise with relevant authorities, organise and conduct audits of the Health & Safety System.
• Manage and coordinate Health & Safety training.
• Provide expert advice, information and assessment on Health and Safety issues.
• Coordinate Occupational Risk Prevention activities.
• Assess and oversee the Health & Safety Committees.
• Oversee the facility's biosafety management, ensuring adherence to established protocols, regulatory compliance, and promotion of a safe working environment.
