Risk Framework and Excellence Lead – Sanofi
Location : Barcelona

The Procurement function maximizes savings to fund the company’s future growth and collaborates with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units to drive cost efficiency and supplier risk management.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design and maintain overall procurement risk strategy with respect to due diligence and onboarding of new suppliers, and annual assessment of critical suppliers.
- Define and maintain risk KPIs for Cyber, Financial and other risks outlined in the strategy.
- Design risk training for the entire procurement organization and maintain related KPIs.
- Own Coupa PRM and drive global rollout of the risk framework; manage the Coupa risk platform as the point person and subject matter expert.
- Serve as the POC for the vendor master data team to ensure continuous data and process improvement related to supplier risk.
- Lead the mono-sourcing exit project to ensure manufacturing and supply risks have a business continuity plan in place.
- Conduct top 20 product risk assessments in defined phases.
- Monitor open CAPA items and ensure timely mitigation and action plans.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of suppliers and procurement activities to identify risks and vulnerabilities (ABD, financial risk, HSE, cyber, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Legal, Compliance) to align risk management with business objectives.
- Provide guidance as a subject matter expert on procurement risk management and support internal stakeholders as needed.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness and compliance through training, communication and awareness campaigns.
- Evaluate and improve supplier risk program policies and processes to ensure compliance with new regulations (e.g., EU supply chain due diligence, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive).
Drive Compliance through data and metrics
Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of risk management initiatives and ensure consistent reporting.Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement risk management processes through digital capability and dashboards.Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in procurement risk management.Qualifications
Required : Master’s degree in business administration / engineering in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.10–15 years of proven experience in Risk Management and / or procurement, supply chain management, within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier relationship management, and supply chain risk management principles.Excellent analytical skills to identify, assess, and prioritize risks.Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to procurement and supply chain management.Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate across organizational levels.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within timelines.Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.Experience with risk platforms like Resilinc, Coupa, etc. is required.Preferred Qualifications : Experience with conducting general financial audits and / or supplier audits, assessments, or evaluations; knowledge of child labor, anti-bribery, ethics, and living wage human rights regulations globally is preferred.Languages
Fluent in English is a must.
