Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Growth & Emerging Markets, the Managing Director will lead and expand Equinix’s operations in Spain. The MD will define the strategic vision, drive business growth, and ensure strong execution across all functions. The role requires exceptional leadership, commercial acumen, and the ability to build trusted relationships with customers, partners, and government stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the 5-year strategic vision for Equinix Spain, aligning with regional and global goals.
- Lead the development of 1–3 year metro strategies covering retail, network, and hyperscale objectives.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth and market leadership in retail and enterprise segments.
- Lead a high-performing, cross-functional country team with strong cohesion and alignment.
- Foster an inclusive, values-driven culture that promotes empowerment, diversity, and innovation.
- Identify, mentor, and develop key talent to strengthen the leadership pipeline.
- Oversee financial performance, P&L, and market execution.
- Ensure compliance as Equinix’s Local Legal Representative.
- Anticipate and mitigate business risks impacting financial or operational objectives.
- Build strategic relationships with government bodies, regulators, customers, and partners.
- Represent Equinix in public forums, media, and industry associations to protect and enhance brand reputation.
- Drive partnerships with key strategic customers, channel partners, and alliances to expand the ecosystem.
Knowledge and Skills
Proven ability to develop and communicate long-term strategy while delivering short-term results.Strong understanding of P&L management, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.Demonstrated success in leading a technology-driven business, ideally within a U.S.-based or global enterprise.Hands‑on experience in managing complex, matrixed organizations.Skilled in driving accountability, setting measurable goals, and inspiring high performance.Comfortable leading through ambiguity and change with resilience and agility.Deep understanding of digital infrastructure, cloud, and interconnection markets.Experience with direct enterprise sales, channel management, and partner ecosystems across industries such as IT, telecom, finance, and automotive.Strong government and regulatory relationship‑building capabilities.Senior level
