The Senior IBM-AIX Engineer is responsible for driving technical service resolution and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through providing pre and post-sales technical / functional support to current and prospective customers. This position is responsible for providing systems engineering support for Company clients in a 24X7 service organization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as a lead customer issue resolution engineer and take ownership of all assigned tickets.
• Do Knowledge Transitions and work as a customer lead, taking ownership of all assigned Project work.
• Collaborate with other technical specialists when carrying out assigned duties.
• Effectively negotiate with technical peers and customers to implement technical solutions.
• Maintain current industry-level certifications.
• Analyze technical problems and create solutions using existing techniques and / or tools.
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
• Prepare and recommend technical alternatives involving technology, methodology, tools, processes, and solution components.
• Assist the Project Manager by providing a technical project coordination role.
• Coordinate with relevant support teams to ensure clients are informed about progress and issues related to Unix server management and smooth handovers.
• Adhere to Change Management and Problem Management procedures, including compliance with Service Level Agreements as documented in the Problem Severity matrix.
• Create regular reports for Management requirements.
