Overview Process Development Lead
The Process Development team is responsible for designing and developing process flow diagrams, material and energy balances, and utility sizing. They will lead engineering studies to improve, automate, or expand existing facilities with minimal supervision and develop specifications and datasheets for process equipment and instrumentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cGMP, GAMP, ISA standards, CIP / SIP, and regulatory documentation, as well as excellent problem-solving, communication, time management, and project ownership skills.
Key Responsibilities Design conceptual and detailed P&IDs for Process and Critical Utility systems
Define controls strategy including CIP / SIP integration and interface with DCS / PLC systems
Lead process-engineering scope within large-scale projects
Collaborate with project controls, architecture, construction management, and CQV teams
Maintain strong rapport with clients and internal design teams; support business development and proposals
Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field
10+ years in process design within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences
Demonstrated track record leading or significantly contributing to projects exceeding €100 million in value
Proficient in creating PFDs, P&IDs, utility sizing, calculations, and equipment specs
Skilled in process simulation tools, smart-P&ID systems, and AutoCAD
