Are you a natural problem-solver with a passion for delivering complex design and construction solutions? We are seeking a Data Center Design & Construction Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle delivery of new-build and retrofit data center projects in Spain. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage permitting, procurement, on-site construction, commissioning, and final handover while ensuring compliance with Spanish building regulations, international standards, and IMDC’s technical and commercial objectives. Your role in our mission
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across site assessments, permitting, MEP, architectural, structural, and civil disciplines.
- Oversee design development, planning approvals, and permitting processes.
- Manage procurement and contract administration for multiple contracts and procurement methodologies.
- Drive project controls including budget, schedule, risk, and quality using tools such as Procore, ACC, and Facility Grid.
- Ensure compliance with local legislation, internal reporting, and IMDC project delivery requirements.
- Coordinate commissioning activities, including integrated systems testing.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (Operations, Security, ICT) to align technical, safety, scope, and delivery protocols.
- Maintain project documentation, including risk registers, change logs, technical submittals, and RFI trackers; facilitate closeout and facility activation.
Valued skills and experience
Degree in Engineering, Construction / Project Management, or local equivalent (e. g. , Level 5 or 6 engineering qualifications).Numerous years experience in mission-critical MEP, data centers, high-tech labs, or other relevant sectors.Technical knowledge of MEP systems, UPS, chillers, BMS, fire protection, and relevant design standards.Experience managing Primavera or Microsoft Project schedules and developing high-level cost estimates.Knowledge of ASHRAE commissioning processes and Spanish contract administration; FIDIC experience is an advantage.Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e. g. , BREEAM) and cross-functional collaboration.Proven ability to manage projects in Spain and the EU, with strong English and Spanish communication skills.Self-motivated, able to take initiative, drive continuous process improvements, and operate in fast-paced, multi-project environments.Discover what we offer
