Overview
Join us as the Medical Affairs Director, Iberia at Mundipharma. The role leads the Medical Affairs team in Iberia, focusing on improving patient outcomes by delivering superior value to stakeholders and driving world class medical evidence generation and communication. The Medical Director will lead impactful Medical Plans for the ongoing launch of Rezafungin in invasive fungal disease in Iberia, and will collaborate with the global Medical Affairs community while managing local MSL teams.
Responsibilities
Medical Leadership (40%)
- Provide leadership for the Iberia Medical team, focusing on medical excellence in the development and execution of Anti-Infective Medical Plans that deliver enhanced patient outcomes
- Coach and support local teams with development of talent and key capabilities
- Ensure strong business leadership and strategic partnership as a member of the Iberia Leadership Team (LT)
- Provide Medical governance, ensuring activities are in the best interests of patients and compliant with local regulations / codes
- Collaborate with Global Medical Anti-Infectives to ensure insight and data generation and communications align with Global strategy
- Collaborate with Global Established Brands to provide reactive support for the legacy portfolio (Pain, etc.)
- Manage the Iberia Medical budget
- Work with Global Medical Operations to embed global systems and processes locally
- Build a Specialty Care culture centered on patient centricity, scientific knowledge, and external partnerships
- Contribute to the development of the Cluster Regional Medical Affairs strategy and evolve the function as a strategic partner
- Establish and maintain scientific collaborations with external experts, institutions, societies, and other groups
- Lead local patient engagement activities (e.g., patient advocacy groups)
- Act as a medical spokesperson for the local business as appropriate, in alignment with the communications team
- Liaise with competitor companies to resolve disputes where appropriate
Provide Medical expertise to cross-functional teams (20%)
Provide support, advice and guidance on Scientific and Medical matters in Anti-InfectivesCollaborate with Iberia Marketing to ensure seamless execution of initiativesLiaise with Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety and R&D for aligned Scientific Affairs approachesOversee development, review and approval of promotional and non-promotional materials in line with applicable Codes and RegulationsCollaborate with Legal and Compliance to meet company standardsWhat you’ll bring
Qualified Medical Doctor, Pharmacist or similar (MD, MPharm or equivalent) preferredPrevious experience as a Country Medical DirectorStrong knowledge of the Iberian marketDeep expertise as a Medical SignatoryFluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken)Successful launch experience in Specialty Care and / or Rare Disease (ideal)Experience working with commercial colleaguesTrack record of building strong scientific partnerships with external expertsClinical Development / Operations experience is desirableExposure to markets outside Iberia or above-country Medical Affairs roles (desirable)What we offer in return
