The Finance NextGen Programme is an Airbus Defence & Space-wide development programme. This programme is designed to identify and develop talented Leaders for the Airbus Finance Community who will contribute significantly towards achieving our business goals. The Finance NextGen Programme - sponsored by Airbus Defence & Space’s CFO - enables its participants to enhance financial know-how and expertise, combined with further learning in management and leadership competencies.
Mission of the Programme
- Fostering and deepening participants’ financial knowledge and expertise on the Airbus world of Finance, enlarging the scope to the international financial context
- Linking formal learning with rotating, real‑business project assignments
- Increasing participants’ project management and leadership competencies
- Encouraging networking, job shadowing, mobility and cross‑cultural experiences
- Mentorship from a member of the Finance Top Management
Responsibilities
The jobholder ensures full financial reporting of Industrial Manufacturing Work Packages for the 15 different manufacturing sites of Defence and Space.The jobholder acts as a Business partner, supporting Operations Management and provides inputs on all economic and financial aspects of industrial work packages.The jobholder ensures adherence to Estimates At Completion (EAC) reference at the correct level of granularity to steer properly the business.To support other controllers in analysis, investigations, data automation and ad‑hoc requests.To support the Operations Controlling community (TFO) in transnational harmonisation projects and ensure common ways of working.To contribute to savings / improvements projects.Support the Head of Manufacturing Controlling with the financial piloting of industrial activities and economic related topics and assist in the delivery of the consolidated financial reporting (define, harmonise and ensure consistency and compliance, incl. tools). Be the Central Manufacturing Controlling Platform.Produce a consolidated recurring / non‑recurring reporting and analysis within a heterogeneous environment with several stakeholders; ensure full visibility of cost performance vs budget and vs. previous periods to the Head of Manufacturing Controlling and industrial teams’ leaders, in parallel, make the common reporting a success, taking care of the quality of the data and of the improvement / automation of the template.Deploy, drumbeat, and consolidate the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.Coordination with financial and industrial teams in France, UK, Spain, Germany and Poland.Drive standardisation through the finance roadmap and requirements / deliverables to the Industrial team; implement local improvement initiatives such as a leaner month’s end reporting and industrial board. Propose and coordinate mitigation actions if needed to support discussion and decision‑making at management level.Push for budget adherence and recurring cost improvements, contribute to improvement projects, and support on ad‑hoc requests from Audit and Accounting.The jobholder implements transnational reports and processes. Recommendation for decision making.The jobholder ensures the full financial visibility for all the processes through the implementation of new transnational tools supported by local inputs.Monitoring performance against EAC reference and Budget (incl. saving initiatives).Measure business performance via collection, consolidation and synthesis of performance indicators. Manage performance through root cause analysis, risks / opportunities identification, recommendations in order to enable decision making. Identify / drive improvement projects to reach targeted performance. Support internal and external best practices identification & sharing.Required Skills
Educated to honours degree or equivalent in mathematics, sciences, finance or business from a major University or Business School.Ability to think analytically is important for this financial role, therefore a high level of academic achievement can be more important than the specific subjects studied.High proficiency with MS Excel; highly numerate and computer literate. Financially aware with high business partnering acumen.Critical thinking & ability to constructively challenge the operational business.Excellent team working skills.Good communication skills – an ability to make finance important to non‑finance people and to make complex issues understandable.Experience required (e.g. work experience / clubs / societies / charity work / hobbies etc.) : International Work Experience highly desired.Demonstration of a strong work ethic is essential.Hobbies and / or extra‑curricular activities demonstrating teamwork / entrepreneurial spirit / digital mindset / global business awareness would be advantageous.Languages : English negotiation level + at least another Airbus language.Company
