Department : Group Provisioning (GP). The unit is based mainly in Madrid and works with colleagues across Europe. The Quant team maintains and develops reserving and cash flow models and supports IFRS 4 / IFRS 17 and Solvency II processes.
Job Description You will work in an enthusiastic, committed, non-hierarchical, international unit with actuarial and quantitative backgrounds. As an expert quantitative analyst, you will develop and maintain methodological implementation of cash flow prediction models and interpret outcomes for use cases like IFRS4, IFRS17 and Solvency II. You will contribute to designing and improving processes around model management and interpretation of outcomes.
Responsibilities Contribute to maintaining the unit’s functional and technical implementation of models that produce technical provisions and cash flow estimates.
Build and improve R code for data, modelling, insurance and actuarial science.
Review R code to ensure compliance with documented quality standards.
Collaborate with Finance and Controllers to interpret model outcomes and provide actionable insights.
Contribute to the transformation of the unit’s models.
Qualifications Required qualifications :
Insurance / actuarial modelling background or similar.
IT literacy with some programming experience; ability to deliver quality code in a programming language (preferably in insurance / banking environments).
Knowledge of IFRS17 and Solvency II is a plus.
Ability to work with large datasets and draw meaningful insights.
Strong quantitative skills and initiative.
Ability to explain model results to a non-technical audience.
Other qualifications :
Master’s degree in a quantitative science or Actuarial science (e.g., physics, math, stats, quant finance, econometrics).
5 years of experience.
Hands-on programming experience and ability to build software tools.
Experience with numerical programming is a plus.
Fluency in English and Spanish with excellent writing skills.
Knowledge and experience with GitHub or similar source code management tools is a plus.
