Overview
Zurich Technology Delivery Center – Barcelona, ES. This role is for a Kubernetes Engineer within the TDC, part of Zurich Insurance Group, established in Barcelona in 2006.
The TDC specializes in software development, data analytics, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure to support Zurich's strategic goals and drive operational efficiency through technology solutions.
What Can You Expect?
As a Kubernetes Engineer you will have the opportunity to work with OpenShift and Kubernetes, design and maintain infrastructure, and collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and deploy them on OpenShift / Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for Cloud incidents and problems. Perform monitoring, profiling and troubleshooting of existing solutions.

- Design, implement, and maintain scalable OpenShift / Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and deploy them on OpenShift / Kubernetes.
- Optimize cluster performance, resource utilization, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for OpenShift / Kubernetes environments.
- Ensure the security of OpenShift / Kubernetes clusters by following best practices and implementing security controls.
- Automate deployment and management processes using infrastructure as code tools.
- Stay up to date with ecosystem developments and propose improvements.
- Work with key stakeholders to understand requirements and existing systems.
- Create technical documentation and define solutions.
- Collaborate with teammates to evolve the platform and ensure service excellence.
- Continuously learn about new technologies and apply them to customer needs.
- Work in Agile mode to fulfil stakeholder requirements.
- Participate in Solution Strategy and technology roadmap discussions.
- Collaborate with experts in various technological domains.

What Makes You a Great Fit?
We value candidates who meet some of the following requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in computer science.1 year of experience with OpenShift and / or Kubernetes, Docker (preferentially OpenShift).1 year of experience with software engineering or software systems engineering in professional or academic environments.1 year of experience with programming, scripting, or mark-up languages (Bash, Python, JSON, YAML) in professional or academic environments.1 year of experience with UNIX / Linux operating systems and command line administration.1 year of experience with software version control systems (Git preferred).Team player with strong communication (English verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.Ability to communicate complex technical issues to technical and non-technical personnel.Ability to work in a fast-changing, dynamic, agile environment with good time management and work ethic.English B2.Additional Qualifications
Experience with Windows operating systems, MS-DOS and / or PowerShell scripting.Experience with CentOS or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).Experience with IaC : Terraform, Helm, Kustomize.Experience with security protocols and practices (SSO, OAuth2, OpenID, certificates).Ability to set up monitoring, logging and alerting for Kubernetes clusters.Understanding of Kubernetes security best practices (RBAC, network, pod security policies).Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio).Knowledge of serverless frameworks (Knative, AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.Experience with GitHub and / or Azure DevOps.Experience with Agile development techniques.Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.What We Offer
