Our opportunity

Zurich Insurance Group is seeking a Senior SAM Specialist with expertise in Microsoft enterprise software to join our global Software Asset Management team. The role focuses on optimizing software contract spend, ensuring compliance, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and collaborating on opportunities or risk remediation. This senior position requires a broad understanding of IT technology, service management processes, and stakeholder collaboration within Zurich Group.

GTO SW Asset Management includes an international team of SAM experts across five countries, managing a multi-million-dollar software portfolio and supporting IT stakeholders in achieving their objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in shaping and implementing 'Best Practice' methodologies in the Microsoft space at a group-wide level.

Your role

As a Software Asset Management Specialist, your main responsibilities will include :

  • Providing subject matter expertise with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft operations and licensing, advising on complex licensing topics, and producing ELPs for Microsoft software (user and server-based).
  • Understanding Microsoft licensing concepts and product use rights for on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Navigating and utilizing Microsoft billing, tracking, and measurement tools such as Azure Active Directory, CMDB, My Access, Intune, and ServiceNow.
  • Ensuring transparency of software contract costs and fair charge allocation based on usage.
  • Negotiating effectively within the organization and with external vendors in a collaborative manner.
  • Maintaining stakeholder relationships and fostering an information-sharing environment.
  • Driving initiatives for software savings, developing best practices, and ensuring compliance with budgets and contracts.
  • Managing contract negotiations, demand management, liaising with vendors, legal, and sourcing teams.

Your Skills and Experience

As a Software Asset Management Specialist, your skills and qualifications should include :

  • At least 5 years of proven experience managing Microsoft software portfolios in an enterprise environment, including creating and managing full ELPs for server-based software like SQL and Windows.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft billing, tracking, and measurement tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills (V / H-Lookups, Pivots, Complex calculations).
  • Experience with P&L calculations and cost accruals.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Preferred but not mandatory : experience with Flexera.
  • Personal traits (to be assessed via behavioral interview) :

  • Analytical skills, financial and commercial acumen, ability to process complex data.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication, influence, and networking skills.
  • Negotiation skills with vendors and stakeholders.
