About IFAE

The Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) is a public consortium of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). IFAE carries out research and contributes to the development of high energy physics from theoretical, experimental, and technological perspectives. IFAE has the status of a University Institute attached to UAB and is located on the UAB campus.

About The Collider Physics Group

The Collider Physics group at IFAE focuses on the scientific exploitation of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. IFAE has 33 years of involvement in the ATLAS experiment, and responsibilities include the Tile Hadronic Calorimeter (TileCal), High-Level Trigger infrastructure, physics selection algorithms, and physics analyses. The group conducts precision measurements and searches for new phenomena beyond the Standard Model, and collaborates with IFAE’s Theory Division and the PIC computing center.

Role Overview

The postdoctoral researcher will participate in the preparation of the ATLAS detector for the High-Luminosity LHC and in the analysis of Run 2 and Run 3 data. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Experimental Particle Physics, obtained between 1 September 2022 and 1 September 2025.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the preparation of the ATLAS detector for the High-Luminosity LHC.
• Analyze data collected during Run 2 and Run 3 of the LHC.
