Junior Grid Connection Modelling Engineer

Overview

At Siemens Gamesa, as a member of the Grid Module team, you will develop and improve electrical models of wind turbines, wind farms and power system components, perform grid connection studies with these models, and generate associated documentation.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Develop and improve electrical models for grid connection studies, ensuring accurate simulations and effective implementation of specific functions / features.
• Conduct comprehensive grid connection analysis using simulation tools such as DIgSILENT PF, PSS / E, PSCAD, MATLAB & Simulink PowerFactory, and EMTP-RV.
• Leverage knowledge of programming languages like Python and DPL to optimize model performance and streamline simulation processes.
• Analyze simulation results to identify performance gaps and propose targeted improvements for enhanced modeling accuracy.
• Validate and benchmark wind turbine models against reference data to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards.
• Document all activities thoroughly, including design and validation reports, and provide ongoing support to customers regarding simulation model issues, while actively participating in the development of the company’s electrical modeling roadmap.
