Maritime Fleet Manager Position Available

Maritime Expert Wanted

A prominent shipping and logistics service provider seeks a seasoned Maritime Expert to oversee the maintenance and repair of its fleet. Based in Tarragona, this role offers an exciting opportunity for those with technical expertise and leadership skills.

• Lead a team of Technical Superintendents to ensure timely maintenance and repair work on commercial vessels over 500 GRT.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including class recommendations and safety standards.
• Manage special projects, including dry dock specifications, mobilizations, and in-water repairs.
• Coordinate Annual Management Reviews and Master's Reviews to assess policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
• Implement Stop Work Authority (SWA) when safety is at risk and report hazards through the Safety Observation Card (SOC) or Defect Reporting System.
• Foster strong relationships with internal teams, customers, shipyard management, and suppliers.
• Must hold a Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
• Merchant Navy experience is essential, with at least 5 years as a Technical Superintendent on commercial vessels over 500 GRT.
• Strong knowledge of ISM, ISPS, Flag State, and Classification Society procedures.
• Ability to travel internationally at short notice.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; knowledge of PowerPoint and Project is a plus.
• Strong people management skills, preferably gained in a multicultural environment.
