About The Role

The Iberia (Spain & Portugal), DACH (Germany, Austria, & Switzerland), and Southern, Central & Eastern Europe (SCEE) Safety Team is responsible for enabling sustained business growth by building an industry-leading safety and standards program.

In this role, you will lead core business activities and critical projects to advance our safety mission within the Iberia and DACH regions for Uber's Mobility & Delivery services. You should thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, be passionate about safety, and enjoy solving complex problems.

You will analyze issues, develop solutions, communicate insights, collaborate with internal and external partners, and manage projects from start to finish. Your work will directly impact safety improvements in the Mobility & Delivery space.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of Mobility & Delivery safety initiatives in Iberia & DACH to position Uber as the safest platform.
  • Design and implement scalable safety processes and initiatives.
  • Align safety strategies with business objectives and advise senior management.
  • Share best practices with EMEA counterparts to scale impact.
  • Improve incident handling metrics and compliance with reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, product, and engineering teams to develop safety technology solutions.
  • Support safety communication campaigns, educational content, and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, product operations, safety, security, consulting, or related fields (considering less experience for strong candidates).
  • Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in English.

  • Ability to coordinate across regions and levels, communicate priorities clearly.
  • Proactive in dynamic environments; willing to travel and work across time zones.
  • Experience interpreting and presenting data; translating data into action plans.
  • Experience in safety, compliance, fraud detection, and prevention.
  • Data management skills; SQL knowledge.
