What is The Role
Elastic is building the next generation conversational interface that lets users chat with their own data. We need a software engineer who is as comfortable polishing React components as writing the Node routes and Elasticsearch queries that feed them. You will deliver core AI chat features, including transcript virtualization, prompt composers, and citation inspectors, while also implementing the API endpoints that stream answers, persist sessions, and surface evaluation metrics. You will pair with designers on accessible, keyboard-friendly patterns, instrument the stack for usage analytics, and collaborate with data scientists on prompt experiments and offline evaluation loops.
