Data Platform Engineer – Remote (Spain or Portugal)
Are you passionate about building and evolving modern data governance platforms? We’re looking for a Data Platform Engineer based in Spain or Portugal to take ownership of our Databricks Unity Catalog and Collibra environments, helping to drive innovation, transparency, and compliance across our data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, enhance, and innovate the Databricks Unity Catalog and Collibra Data Governance platforms used company-wide.
- Collaborate with data engineers and other technical stakeholders to enable secure, compliant, and high-quality data solutions.
- Implement data lineage tracking , audit logging , and access monitoring for full transparency and accountability.
- Develop self-service data access capabilities aligned with business needs and data protection standards.
- Integrate Unity Catalog with other governance tools such as Collibra and Reference Data Management platforms.
- Improve platform availability, stability, and automation through CI / CD pipelines on Azure Cloud .
- Deliver on operations and service management including change, configuration, lifecycle, and incident resolution.
- Ensure platform security and compliance in line with company policies.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience).5+ years in data platform engineering or data governance in large-scale enterprise environments.1+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks Unity Catalog (configuration, automation, and policy enforcement).Proficient in Python , SQL , and CI / CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).Solid understanding of metadata management , data lineage , and cataloging concepts.Knowledge of RBAC / ABAC models and data security best practices for cloud data platforms.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.Experience working in an Agile (Scrum) environment.Nice to Have
Experience with Bash , Azure CLI , PowerShell , REST API , or Terraform .Databricks Certified Platform Administrator or Solution Architect certification.Familiarity with Collibra and other data governance tools.Experience in multi-cloud environments ( Azure, AWS, GCP ).Understanding of security and compliance frameworks .Join a forward-thinking data team where your expertise will directly shape the future of our data governance ecosystem.

Salary : €56,300 – €62,000 per year
