Finance Director (renewable energy)

Our client is an independent power producer that develops and manages renewable energy power plants with efficient management and stable yield. The company manages the whole lifecycle of its plants from securing land and grid connections, through construction and continuing into operation, across Southern Europe, especially Italy, Portugal, and Spain.

Functions Our client is seeking a Finance Director to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy, overseeing financial operations, and ensuring the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities Financial Strategy and Planning : Develop and implement the financial strategy aligned with company goals. Collaborate with senior management on long-term financial plans, including capital allocation, risk management, and investment strategies. Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.

Capital Management and Investor Relations : Manage the capital structure, optimize debt and equity financing, and maintain strong relationships with investors through timely financial updates.

Financial Reporting and Analysis : Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in compliance with regulations. Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and operational improvements.

Risk Management and Compliance : Implement risk management strategies and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Team Leadership and Development : Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative culture and professional growth.

Strategic Partnerships : Collaborate with project development teams, legal advisors, and financial partners to support renewable energy projects.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.

Proven experience as a Finance Director or senior finance leader in renewable energy or related sectors.

Strong understanding of renewable energy project finance, asset management, and the IPP business model.

Exceptional financial modeling, analysis, and strategic planning skills.

Experience in investor relations and fundraising.

Proficiency in financial reporting, compliance, and regulation.

Excellent communication skills; fluency in English and Spanish; knowledge of Italian and Portuguese is a plus.
