Description of Project :

The InnoFAB initiative seeks to create a cutting-edge infrastructure with a 2,000 m² state-of-the-art cleanroom dedicated to advanced semiconductor technologies. With a total budget nearing 400 million euros, this strategic initiative aims to provide a unique environment for innovation, accessible to both industry and research institutions, enhancing the semiconductor manufacturing capabilities of the ecosystem and strengthening the European position in the semiconductor sector.

Recently, the Catalan Government has officially approved the launch of the InnoFAB initiative, which will initially have certain key actions (including the ones described for this position) executed from ICN2.

Main Tasks and responsibilities

The Business Development Lead will lead, together with the general coordinator of INNOFAB and the rest of the ICN2 team, the strategic development of INNOFAB as a research and development center for advanced semiconductor technologies. This profile will focus on establishing and consolidating key relationships with companies in the sector, research centres, universities and public administrations, as well as on the creation of both national and international collaboration networks. In addition, it will play a crucial role in the development and updating of INNOFAB’s operations and business model, with a special focus on the development of the intellectual protection strategy, economic sustainability and the promotion of its technological capabilities.

Development and management of the business plan : Preparation, updating and supervision of INNOFAB’s business plan, ensuring its alignment with the strategic objectives of the centre and the needs of the semiconductor sector.

Identification of financing opportunities both at the public and private levels, through national and international funds, specifically focused on research and development in the field of semiconductor technology.

Collaboration with the project management to manage the long-term economic viability of INNOFAB, ensuring the sustainability of the center and the integration of new technologies in its processes.

Business development and strategic alliances : Identifying, establishing and managing relationships with key stakeholders in the semiconductor sector, including technology companies, equipment suppliers, research centers, universities, and public administrations.
