About the role : Reporting to the Director of Customer Experience, the Commissioning Project & Planning Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring a smooth customer journey through equipment installation and startup activities, helping customers achieve their water quality objectives. This is a newly created position in Europe, designed to close a critical process gap that affects customer experience and delays equipment startup. The role requires autonomy, strong project management, and the ability to operate as a “team of one” while defining processes and building structure. The position can be based in Spain or France. Occasional business travel is required. Working language is English; knowledge of an additional European language (French, German, Spanish, or Italian) is a plus, as the role covers multiple countries.
In this role, you will :
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by reviewing contracts and specifications to understand their needs.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple projects in parallel, managing timelines, budgets, and communications.
Review installation documents (mechanical, electrical, P&ID) to ensure site readiness for commissioning.
Provide technical support and propose solutions when issues arise during installation or startup.
Identify root causes and implement corrective actions as needed.
Collaborate with internal teams (Project Managers, Engineering, Sales, Customer Service) and external contractors.
Drive continuous improvement, share feedback, and contribute to product and process enhancements.
Work independently in a newly created role, managing ambiguity and defining new processes.
Essential requirements
Project Management experience.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (mechanical, electrical, P&ID).
Experience working with external contractors and engineers.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Sales, Operations, Customer Service).
Continuous improvement mindset to drive efficiency and growth.
Strong self-motivation, resilience, and ability to work independently in a new, unstructured role.
Nice-to-have
Post-secondary technical education (Engineering, Chemistry, Process Technology).
Knowledge of water treatment plant processes.
Experience in setting and meeting ambitious objectives, with prioritization and escalation skills.
Fluency in an additional European language (French, German, Spanish, or Italian).
