Business Development Representative - Spain (Remote Position in Spain) — Hydrosat Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow market share in Spain, targeting both private-sector clients and government institutions
- Identify and pursue sales opportunities with government agencies, ministries, and public organizations to embed AgTech solutions (e.g., precision farming tools, IoT devices, software platforms) into regional and national agriculture programs
- Establish and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders and policymakers to secure contracts and foster partnerships aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability
- Pitch customized AgTech solutions to address government priorities in Spain, such as rural development, climate resilience, and food security
- Build and strengthen connections with private-sector clients, including farmers, agribusinesses, and distributors, to drive widespread adoption of AgTech products
- Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and training sessions tailored to diverse audiences, including government officials and private stakeholders
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with both public and private entities, ensuring mutual value and alignment with company objectives
- Work closely with marketing and product teams to adapt offerings to the unique needs of Spanish markets and government initiatives
- Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and government policies impacting agriculture in the region
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and government forums to boost brand recognition and influence
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, Public Policy, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus3+ years of sales experience, preferably in AgTech, agriculture, or government-related salesDemonstrated success in selling to government entities or navigating public-sector procurement processesIn-depth knowledge of agricultural challenges and government priorities in Spain (e.g., land use, export growth, sustainable farming)Outstanding negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with diverse stakeholdersAbility to work independently and manage a remote sales territory effectivelyFluency in Spanish and English is requiredWillingness to travel extensively across Spain (up to 50% of the time)Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales tracking toolPreferred Skills
