Project Manager – Biogas Plants Location : Madrid, Spain

With strong investment, a clear sustainability mission, and multiple projects under development, they are now looking to appoint a Project Manager to strengthen their delivery team.

The Role As Project Manager, you will lead the full lifecycle of biogas plant development — from planning and contractor coordination through to construction, installation, and commissioning. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget, and to the highest environmental and quality standards.
This role blends strategic oversight, technical decision-making, and financial management, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, sustainability-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities Project Planning ~ Define scope for contractors, build detailed project schedules, and set clear objectives aligned with internal requirements and regulatory standards.
Budget & Cost Control ~ Develop and manage project budgets and cash flow, ensuring resources are used efficiently and costs remain within forecasts.
Contract Management ~ Lead the negotiation and closure of construction contracts, ensuring alignment with project budgets, timelines, and internal risk requirements.
Construction & Commissioning Oversight Coordinate all phases of construction, installation, and commissioning of biogas plants. Work alongside an Owner Engineer to supervise technical execution.
Stakeholder Management ~ Maintain strong communication with investors, banks, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project alignment and transparency.
Risk Management ~ Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks with proactive strategies.
Compliance ~ Ensure all project activities comply with local, national, and international regulations related to environmental protection and safety.
Reporting & Documentation ~ Prepare regular project progress reports, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure all information is accessible to key stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation ~ Drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of biogas production projects.
What We’re Looking For Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline. Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2). Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar project management roles. Strong knowledge of biogas / renewable gas regulation and technical standards. Excellent organisational, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and make effective decisions under pressure. English skills (spoken and written) are preferred. Willingness to travel occasionally.
