Country Medical Director Iberia

CSL Vifor is currently looking for a Country Medical Director Iberia to be based at our office in Barcelona. CSL Vifor is a global leader in nephrology, iron deficiency, and rare diseases, committed to improving patient outcomes through innovation and scientific excellence. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Country Medical Director Iberia to lead our medical affairs activities.

In this key leadership role, you will :

• Drive medical strategy, engage with key stakeholders, and ensure the highest standards of scientific and clinical excellence.
• Develop and lead a motivated and well-trained Medical team, setting clear objectives and coaching team members on key competencies.
• Bring healthcare and therapeutic area expertise to guide strategic and operational planning.
• Collaborate with brand leads and market access teams to shape strategy and support access plans.
• Develop and implement the annual country medical plan aligned with strategies.
• Manage local Medical budget planning and tracking.
• Engage effectively with external stakeholders and professional organizations.
• Build relationships with health authorities and be involved in access strategy development.
• Ensure local evidence generation and compliant data activities, including Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS).
• Oversee medical communication plans, including disease awareness and medical education activities.
• Advise leadership on field-based medical team deployment and resource strategies.
• Review and approve local medical materials and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal processes.
• Minimum Requirements :
• Medical Education (MD), PharmD, or PhD
• At least 7 years’ experience in Medical Affairs and / or Clinical Development in pharma, with 2+ years in people management
• Experience with healthcare compliance, stakeholder engagement, and budgeting
• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Preferred Qualifications :
• Specialization in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, or Cardiology
• 10+ years in pharma Medical Affairs / Clinical Development, with regional / global experience
• Proven leadership in people management
• Experience with non-interventional studies and publication record
• Knowledge of Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Quality Management
