Senior Software Engineer, AI Ecosystems (Auth0)

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our AI Ecosystems team. This role focuses on delivering features that allow customers to leverage the current Agentic ecosystem and engage their developer and partner base in a world increasingly powered by artificial intelligence.

Overview

At Okta, we’re building the next generation of authentication for the Agentic AI era. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who thrives in collaborative environments, aims to grow technically, and wants to build scalable systems that solve real-world security problems.

Responsibilities

  • Bring expertise in identity and security while building innovative features and standards exposing the Agentic AI ecosystem to customers and their user bases.
  • Build and maintain scalable services using TypeScript, NodeJS, and PostgreSQL / MongoDB.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to deliver features that meet developer and partner needs for API and product integrations.
  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code; participate in code reviews and system design discussions.
  • Contribute to observability and alerting systems to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Continuously learn and grow by working with experienced engineers on complex distributed systems.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Solid programming experience with JavaScript / TypeScript and familiarity with NodeJS runtime environments.
  • Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres and MongoDB preferred).
  • Ability to write well-tested, high-quality code.
  • Enjoyment of working in an iterative development environment.
  • Ability to work well with technical and non-technical people to deliver high-value results.
  • Autonomous work style with the ability to seek help when needed.
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, and sense of ownership and drive.
  • Experience with architecture principles across infrastructure, security, data, integration, and application layers.
  • Experience building resilient products that can scale.

  • Understanding of IAM concepts
  • Experience with using AI Agents to understand the problem space
  • Experience creating and maintaining public and secure APIs
  • Curiosity about AI and its intersection with identity and security
  • Experience working on Identity and Access Management software and concepts
  • Knowledge of observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry
