The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is a scientific and technical higher federal authority based in Berlin. As a departmental research institution of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, we research, test and advise on the protection of people, the environment and material goods. Our activities in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry focus on the technical safety of products and processes.

Responsibilities : Installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software for scientific applications (Windows / Linux)
Collaboration with other IT teams to solve complex problems
Support end users with IT issues and requests
Qualifications : Successfully completed vocational training as an IT specialist in system integration or demonstrable equivalent skills and experience acquired on the basis of previous work experience
Sound knowledge of current Microsoft and Linux operating systems and their connection to server systems
Comprehensive expertise in the operation of individual hardware and software systems including peripheral systems
Ability and willingness to familiarize yourself with new application scenarios in a scientific environment
Knowledge of working with IP networks
Knowledge of IT service management according to ITIL
Knowledge of BSI IT baseline protection
Strong customer and service orientation
Very good written and spoken German (C2) and good English skills
Willingness to participate in an extended security check in accordance with Section 9 of the Security Check Act (SÜG) and positive completion of the check
Good communication and information behavior, initiative / willingness to work, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate, willingness to learn and flexibility
