Overview

As the Head of Technical Service, you will play a critical role within BVI’s Senior Leadership Group (SLG). You will be responsible for developing and executing BVI’s global technical service strategy to ensure readiness for key product launches and sustained customer success. In this role, you will bring an enterprise-level perspective, balancing strategic leadership with operational excellence, and ensuring service integration across BVI’s equipment and consumable portfolios.

Your key objectives will include :

Responsibilities

  • Establish and advance a holistic Technical Services strategic plan aligned with enterprise growth and product launches.
  • Build and strengthen a world-class direct and distributor-based service organization with tiered offerings across geographies.
  • Ensure scalability of technical service infrastructure to support new technology introductions and global installed base expansion.
  • Drive cross-functional integration across Sales, R&D, Manufacturing, Marketing, QA, Education, and Customer Operations to deliver an end-to-end BVI customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Global Technical Service Strategy
  • Create and implement a holistic technical service plan aligned with enterprise growth and product launches.
  • Drive cross-functional integration across Sales, R&D, Manufacturing, Marketing, QA, Education, and Customer Operations.
  • Lead Service Operations and Infrastructure
  • Build and manage a world-class service organization across direct and distributor channels.
  • Oversee global spare parts planning, logistics, warranty programs, and digital / remote service capabilities.
  • Ensure Product Launch Readiness
  • Align technical service capabilities with launch plans for major capital equipment and consumables.
  • Partner with R&D and Marketing on field readiness, retrofits, and upgrades.
  • Manage Performance and Compliance
  • Define and monitor Service Level Agreement targets and KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with global quality and regulatory standards.
  • Measure and report customer satisfaction to drive continuous improvement.
  • Financial and Business Leadership
  • Manage service P&L, revenue generation, and cost optimization.
  • Build scalable business models to strengthen margin contribution and enterprise value.
  • People Leadership
  • Hire, develop, and coach a high-performing global services team.
  • Create technical service career pathways and succession planning frameworks.
  • Lead cross-functional and distributor teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA preferred) with strong business and technical acumen.
  • 10+ years of leadership in global technical service roles within capital equipment Medical Devices.
  • Proven P&L management experience with enterprise-level accountability.
  • Experience leading service organizations through major product launches.
  • Global mindset with ability to work across diverse and multicultural environments.
  • Strong change leadership skills to manage complexity and ambiguity.
  • Effective communicator, able to influence executive, regional, and functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic service plans, operationalize processes, and optimize service performance.
  • Willingness and capacity to travel globally up to 50% (without visa restrictions).
