Datacenter People are working with a well known Datacenter operator who are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Center Mechanical Lead to join their Design & Construction department. This role focuses on leading all mechanical aspects of data center design and construction projects. You will provide technical expertise, develop conceptual designs, oversee commissioning processes, represent the company in project meetings, and ensure the smooth implementation of mechanical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of conceptual and detailed mechanical systems for new and existing data centers
- Select and specify mechanical equipment based on industry best practices, project requirements, and sustainability considerations
- Ensure mechanical system design seamlessly integrates with other systems (electrical, IT, etc.) through close collaboration with relevant teams
- Oversee the commissioning process for new and upgraded mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets
- Identify and resolve mechanical commissioning issues efficiently to maintain project progress
- Stay at the forefront of the latest trends and technologies in data center mechanical design and operation
- Serve as the company's internal expert on all mechanical aspects of data centers
- Represent the company in external project meetings, discussions, and negotiations with vendors and consultants
- Identify opportunities for improvement in data center mechanical systems and processes
Experience / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum of 7+ years of experience in data center design and construction or equivalent experience in critical infrastructureProven track record of success in leading and executing complex mechanical engineering projectsExperience on Mechanical Systems and discipline (HVAC, CFDs, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC / CRAH Units, Air Handling Units, etc)Strong understanding of data center thermal management, power distribution, and fire suppression systemsExperience with commissioning and startup of data center mechanical systemsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skillsWe regret that due to the high volume of applications we are unable to acknowledge each one.
