The Opportunity

This role plays a critical part in the Analytics & Insights (A&I) team within Global Procurement (GP), focused on establishing robust data foundations that support impactful reporting and performance insights across the function. By partnering closely with IT and key stakeholders, we drive best practices in data management and ensure our infrastructure is optimized for accurate, efficient, and scalable reporting.

As the A&I Data Solutions Lead , you will apply structured thinking, facilitation, and execution to improve procurement's analytical, operational, governance, and strategic project capabilities. You will lead data engineering initiatives across Global Procurement, optimizing data systems and analytics to boost efficiency, and manage a team of data engineers. Leveraging your deep expertise in data engineering and general procurement, you will proactively identify and implement strategies that positively impact both capability and functional objectives.

You will collaborate with colleagues across procurement, IT, finance, and other relevant departments to understand their needs and identify opportunities. This will involve designing, building, and optimizing data-driven services and scalable solutions that enhance procurement's operational efficiency and decision-making effectiveness

Working closely with other team members and leads, you will serve as a peer coach, project or workstream lead, or team lead, ensuring the integration of best practices and the deployment of services, solutions, and frameworks throughout the broader procurement function.

Depending on your experience, knowledge, and business / team requirements, your responsibilities as Analytics & Insights Lead in A&I Data Solutions will include :

Managing complex team situations, including prioritization and escalations, along with general team and people management.

Overseeing individual development plans for team members, coordinating with other A&I team leads, and communicating your team's planning and priorities.

Acting as a strategic bridge between Global Procurement and IT, ensuring strong alignment on data architecture, infrastructure, platform selection, and integration strategies.

Influencing IT, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive alignment on data strategy, advocate for procurement’s data needs, and ensure the delivery of scalable, future-fit solutions.

Defining and embedding standards for ways of working, tooling, and technology selection within the data team, ensuring consistency, reusability, and alignment with analytics best practices.

Managing and overseeing the migration of procurement data sources between databases (e.g. Snowflake), ensuring data integrity, and working according to Data Mesh principles.

Leading the integration of diverse procurement data systems and managing data pipelines in Snowflake to enhance data availability and accessibility.

Establishing a partnering network and defining development plans and technology strategies for data engineering, data management, and data sharing within Global Procurement.

Collaborating with key stakeholders across the procurement function to gather data requirements.

Resolving data-related issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques.

Establishing and maintaining data quality frameworks and processes to proactively monitor, assess, and improve data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness across systems.

Managing and driving data and AI-related projects within Global Procurement.

Who you are :

You hold a university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

You have 7-10 years of work experience with at least 5 years of experience in data engineering.

You are proficient in ETL / ELT technologies, DataOps, and tools such as Talend / dbt / GitLab.

You possess expertise in SQL and preferably Python for database querying and data transformation.

You have knowledge of cloud-based data solutions and infrastructure.

An understanding of data mapping and data quality management using Colibra is preferred.

Excellent understanding of data warehousing concepts (Snowflake experience is preferred).

Knowledge of data governance, data security, and data privacy principles (Data Mesh experience is preferred).

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You demonstrate curiosity, active listening, and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas, with a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement.

You are open-minded and inclusive, readily sharing ideas and knowledge, while also being receptive to feedback from others.

You are fluent in English at a business level.
