A Snapshot of Your Day
We are looking for a Hands-On Electrical Engineer to work on Electrical Generators worldwide.
On a customer project in a power plant somewhere in the world :
You will start your day with a briefing, then proceed to the site to set up high voltage testing equipment connected to large turbo generators. You will ensure all quality and safety standards are met before energizing the system with up to Volt AC / DC. During testing, you will monitor data and optimize parameters to assess the generator's condition.
Finally, you will analyze the results, assess the generator's condition, and recommend maintenance activities. You will discuss these findings with the engineering team and the customer in a debriefing.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Perform commissioning of electrical generators, including functional tests and verification of logic interlocks, from components to full systems according to specifications.
- Conduct electrical tests and inspections on generator components during service outages.
- Troubleshoot and analyze customer problems, collaborating with Engineering for solutions.
- Prepare and perform electrical tests such as dielectric diagnostics, high voltage tests, and insulation resistance measurements.
- Test the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) for proper operation and signal exchange.
- Test generator control, protection, and monitoring devices, verifying functions and investigating faults.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Relevant experience is a plus.Willingness to learn about generator design, electrical insulation technologies, and related areas.Ability to work with technical documentation and understanding of power plant technology.Experience in power plant operations and maintenance; familiarity with Siemens Energy generators is advantageous.Strong analytical skills, proactive attitude, and ability to work independently under pressure.Excellent technical English skills are mandatory; German language skills are helpful. Willingness to travel internationally (up to 100%) and work flexible hours, prioritizing health, safety, and quality.#J-18808-Ljbffr
