Reporting to the Corporate & Sustainability Communications Manager , your main mission will be to support both internal and external communications, ensuring consistency across departments and developing compelling content that drives engagement, inspires action, and reinforces Iberostar’s Wave of Change sustainability strategy. Above all, the focus will be on understanding the end audience and creating communications that are not only consistent but also interesting, relevant, and inspiring.

The role combines strong communication skills with a passion for sustainability, supporting the design and delivery of projects and campaigns that bring Iberostar’s Wave of Change Movement to life across multiple channels and formats.

Wave of Change is Iberostar’s pioneering movement for responsible tourism, launched in 2017 to protect the oceans and drive a circular economy. Job Location : based in our headquarters in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

  • ️What will your day-to-day work be like?
  • As a Sustainability Communications Specialist, your main responsibilities will be :

  • Create and implement communications actions that highlight Iberostar’s sustainability initiatives and achievements.
  • Project management and calendar planning for sustainability communications, working closely with internal communications, brand, PR, and other departments to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
  • Support internal communications with engaging campaigns and content that drive employee awareness and participation.
  • Coordinate with sustainability departments and key stakeholders to gather stories, data, and updates, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging.
  • Develop, write, and edit content (articles, newsletters, website, social media, presentations, reports) tailored to different audiences.
  • Prepare presentations, briefings, and materials for leadership, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Support creative production (photos, videos, other assets) showcasing sustainability projects.
  • Track trends and opportunities in sustainability to strengthen storytelling and engagement.
  • Who is the ideal person for this position?

    The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, an excellent command of English and Spanish and experience creating content across diverse channels and formats.This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and creativity to deliver impactful communications in a fast-paced environment. A good understanding or passion for sustainability and ESG topics is essential.

  • Experience : Background in communications, journalism, sustainability, or related fields. At least, 1-2 years of experience in communications and / or sustainability, ESG, or corporate responsibility.
  • Communication & Storytelling : Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
  • Languages : proficiency both in English and Spanish is required (C1-C2).
  • Collaboration : Excellent teamwork skills, able to work effectively across departments and present ideas clearly and confidently.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management : Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, with strong organizational skills.
  • Creative & Positive Problem-Solving Mindset : Proactive, creative, detail-oriented, and able to approach challenges with a positive mindset while generating effective solutions.
  • Knowledge : Understanding and interest in sustainability concepts, ESG reporting, and corporate responsibility trends preferred.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in presentation tools (PowerPoint, Canva), content management systems, and social media platforms.
  • Experience in project management tools is a plus (Asana).
