Are you a skilled developer looking for a challenging role?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Tech Lead Platform Engineer to join our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) team.
In this position, you will play a critical role in building and refining our IDP capabilities, leveraging your extensive experience in back-end development, cloud engineering, and stakeholder collaboration to drive success across our organization.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our internal developer platform, harnessing cloud services (predominantly Azure and AWS) to provide scalable and resilient solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define clear requirements and execute a refined product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Use your mastery of Python and experience with React to create robust back end and UI solutions, prioritising performance and user experience.
Leverage tools such as Terraform, ArgoCD, etc. for cloud infrastructure and continuous delivery improvement.
Drive continuous improvement in system reliability, observability, and automation within a distributed technology environment.
Engage with stakeholders to analyse needs and deliver solutions that meet and exceed service-level expectations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have :
Mastery in back-end development with Python
Proven experience in UI / UX development using React, ideally with Material UI frameworks
In-depth knowledge of Internal Developer Platform architecture, with experience in platforms like Backstage
Practical experience in cloud architecture with a focus on AWS and Azure
Proficiency in cloud infrastructure technologies such as Terraform, ArgoCD, etc.
Familiarity with continuous delivery tools, such as ADO Pipelines, and GitHub Actions
Strong understanding of distributed systems with proven performance, scalability, and resiliency expertise
Experience working closely with stakeholders to perform requirements analysis and product backlog definition
Agile delivery experience, including a comprehension of testing approaches like TDD
A strong interest in developer experience optimisation within an organisational context would also be beneficial.
Location and Hours
This is a remote full-time position, requiring approximately 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
