Overview We are looking for a skilled and innovative Junior Privacy & AI Counsel to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about privacy and AI governance, and has a strong drive to foster global collaboration in creating innovative compliance solutions.

The successful candidate will have deep expertise in privacy and AI governance laws, the ability to quickly grasp complex, emerging data technologies, and a strong commitment to customer focus and innovation.

Key Responsibilities Contribute to resolving global legal and regulatory privacy and AI governance matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, EU AI Act, etc.).

Anticipate relevant regulatory changes in these areas and help prepare teams to confidently navigate them while maintaining compliance.

Investigate, implement, and refine privacy and AI governance policies, leveraging technology and a process-minded approach to work to improve efficiency and speed-to-market.

Develop close relationships with stakeholders across product, engineering, security, customer care, people, and marketing teams, to understand their needs and objectives and align privacy and AI governance outcomes accordingly.

Assist with product launches and updates to ensure they comply with privacy by design and responsible AI standards.

Lead and improve handling of impact assessments, data subject requests, risk reviews, incident response, PET adoption, and more.

Monitor compliance through audits, assessments, and vendor evaluations.

Track and report privacy and AI metrics, trends, and risks to senior management.

Contribute to training, communication strategies, and other resources to strengthen TravelPerk's privacy and AI culture.

Proactively and holistically identify areas of risk and collaborate with relevant team members to mitigate risks effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications The ideal candidate will have :

Deep expertise in privacy and AI governance laws.

A strong drive to foster global collaboration in creating innovative compliance solutions.

Candidates with between 2-4 PQE of experience of working in an in-house function or a law firm are likely to have the relevant skills / knowledge for this position, but we will consider any applicants with relevant experience.

Relevant privacy certifications, such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP), are also desirable.
