We’re looking to hire a talented General Manager Equipment Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the VP of Global Products, the General Manager Equipment Solutions is responsible for working with segment leaders (Industry Specialists) for product portfolio decisions (adding and deletion of finished goods items).
  • Launch of products into the sales regions and support in technical and commercial matters related to ESAB products.
  • Manage the administration and information around the physical products (Product Data Sheets, Third Party Product Approvals, etc.).
  • Oversee ESAB’s lifecycle product management tool (PDM) and ensure accurate data such as safety data sheets, product data sheets, and certification information are up to date across languages and regions.
  • Collaborate with market and sales units to evaluate local customer requirements and determine the best product mix for each region.
  • Ensure product data is available to entities via the PDM web interface and that product managers communicate product circumstances, features, and limitations to customers.
  • Consult with local sales personnel to identify market opportunities (product gaps) and prioritize product development proposals in collaboration with the CPM, R&D, and other departments, including compiling financial data for business cases.
  • Work with the R&D team to determine which products to make in which factories, and with Capacity Planning, Production Cost, and global sourcing to connect legal entities to efficient supply chains.
  • Provide consulting to ensure lead times are minimized and customer product choices are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Support Managers provide assistance for new products as required.
  • Assist in pricing recommendations considering competitor pricing and subsidiaries’ market strategies, and maintain a pricing database for end users.
  • Provide specialist support to regional teams to maintain ESAB’s competitive edge in a dynamic market landscape.

Knowledge, Tools and Processes

The Process Applications division provides a central source and knowledge bank for welding expertise across all product lines, including :

  • Working with customers on challenging welding problems to improve processes and performance.
  • Providing immediate welding support to maintain customer production flows.
  • Training customers to weld better with ESAB equipment and consumables.
  • Training ESAB staff in over 50 countries to demonstrate ESAB products proficiently.
  • Participation in conferences to promote ESAB’s welding process knowledge.
  • Conducting mini-conferences and exhibitions to showcase ESAB capabilities.
  • Undertaking demonstrations for specific customers and welding applications.
  • Providing ESAB’s sales and marketing units with welding process promotion material such as “success stories.”
  • Consequently, Process Applications specialists can provide Service Recipients’ customers with benefits such as solving welding problems, enabling customer competitiveness, promoting ESAB capabilities, and integrating ESAB methods and consumables into customers’ business practices. This knowledge center is a marketing tool that supports end-user customers and ESAB’s goal of offering total solutions.

    Industry Specialists and Roles

    The industry specialists work closely with Service Recipients and Product Management to develop markets in key industries globally. They analyze industries to identify potential customers, competitors, suitable products, and market approach to maximize potential. They interface with ESAB’s end users, sales companies, manufacturing, and R&D to communicate needs and focus areas, leveraging a deep understanding of welding applications and material properties (e.g., nickel-based applications).

    The industry specialists are categorized as :

  • Filler Metals; and
  • Functional Roles

    The functional roles within each product management category include :

  • VP, General Manager Product Line : oversees the entire product category, strategy, development, profitability, and key decisions on design, pricing, and distribution.
  • VP, Marketing : leads marketing strategy, market research, and collaboration with sales and product development.
  • Director, Category : manages a product category’s development, production, marketing, and sales strategies.
  • Global Marketing : strategizes international campaigns, understanding cultural nuances and tracking results.
  • Marketing Product Manager : positions and promotes products based on market trends and customer needs.
  • Global After Sale : manages post-purchase activities including customer inquiries, warranties, and loyalty strategies.
  • Product Brand Manager : maintains brand image and alignment across strategies and products.
  • Product Development Engineer : designs and develops new products, conducts testing, and collaborates with manufacturing.
  • Shareholder Services

    ESAB determined that none of the services performed by the Product Management functions were related to shareholder services.
