As the Deputy Area Manager, you will oversee, manage, and lead strategic operations across our third-party logistics agencies in Spain and Portugal. You will be responsible not only for supervising and validating daily operations but also for designing and executing strategic initiatives that improve route efficiency, service quality, and sustainability.
We are seeking a highly analytical, hands‑on professional with solid experience in logistics, transportation, and last‑mile delivery. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and negotiator, capable of managing multiple stakeholders and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities and objectives
- Monitor and analyze live tracking of national last‑mile routes.
- Measure and evaluate agency performance through data‑driven KPIs and reporting.
- Review and validate operational and financial documentation from partner agencies.
- Conduct regular on‑site audits and visits to partner agencies.
- Oversee process compliance and staff training for new and existing teams.
- Manage the launch and onboarding of new agencies.
- Ensure daily operational processes are carried out accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain constant communication and collaboration with agency partners.
- Optimize and enhance the use of logistic management software.
- Oversee monthly invoicing validation and cost control for agencies.
- Coordinate transport operations, including hiring extra vehicles when required.
- Manage and resolve agency incidents, collaborating with internal departments (e.g., Customer Experience, Operations).
- Promote sustainable mobility practices and actively work to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
- Act as a quick and effective problem‑solver in operational situations.
- Participate actively in partner negotiations and vendor management.
Requirements
2–3 years of experience in a similar logistics, transportation, or last‑mile role.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.Frequent travel availability across Spain and Portugal.High level of concentration, autonomy, and organizational skills.In‑depth knowledge of the logistics sector, particularly last‑mile operations.Familiarity with national logistics regulations and mobility documentation.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Proactive, adaptable, and motivated to achieve ambitious goals in dynamic environments.Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Power BI proficiency.Experience with logistics and transport management software (CMR, ERP, TMS).Enthusiastic about Lean methodologies and process improvement.Good understanding of Spain and Portugal geography is highly valued.Working knowledge of English. Portuguese language proficiency is a strong plus.What do we offer?
