Senior Backend Python Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer who is proficient in Python.

Location : Spain or Portugal (hybrid role, 3 days / week in the office)

The Impact You’ll Make :

Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable APIs using the FastAPI framework.

Work closely with the science team to integrate their packages and build APIs that can

be consumed by the product.

Manage the full lifecycle of application deployments, ensuring reliability and

performance.

Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform on cloud platforms

like GCP and Azure.

Advocate for and implement engineering best practices, including CI / CD, DevOps, and

containerization (Docker / Kubernetes).

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to enhancing our engineering standards and

practices

Technology Stack :

Languages : Python, SQL

API & Tools : FastAPI (mandatory), Docker (mandatory), Terraform (mandatory), Airflow

(nice to have), PySpark (nice to have)

Databases : PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch (nice to have)

Cloud : GCP & Azure

Version Control : GitLab

What You’ll Bring :

7+ years in backend software engineering, with expert-level proficiency in Python.

Proven experience in API development, with a strong emphasis on the FastAPI

framework.

Strong, hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP / Azure) and infrastructure

management using Terraform.

Solid knowledge of CI / CD pipelines, Agile frameworks, and deployment strategies.

Excellent collaboration skills for working effectively with science and product teams.

Bonus : Experience with data analysis techniques and libraries.
