Overview Lead Lighting Artist role at Amuse Animation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, focusing on a new animated series. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for light, understands the pace of an animated series production, communicates effectively with other departments, and helps the team shine.
Responsibilities Supervise and guide the lighting team throughout the entire production.
Create and maintain visual consistency of lighting across episodes.
Design lighting setups that adhere to the series' style.
Work closely with the compositing, layout, and look development departments.
Maintain fluid and constant communication with the CG Supervisor to align artistic and technical decisions.
Review shots, provide artistic and technical feedback, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
Collaborate with production to estimate times, identify problems, and propose solutions.
Be a positive and resourceful point of contact for the team.
Mentor, guide, and develop the team of artists, sharing knowledge and fostering a learning environment.
What We’re Looking For Previous experience as a Lead or Senior Lighting Artist in animation projects (series, film, or cinematics)
Solid proficiency with Redshift render engines
Mastery of Maya
Strong foundation in compositing (ideally with Nuke)
Ability to plan, communicate, and coordinate with various departments
Proactive, collaborative, and constructive attitude
Functional level of English (for communication in multicultural environments)
Nice-to-have Experience in children's series or with stylized aesthetics
A keen eye for visual storytelling and color
Knowledge of Shotgun (Shotgrid) and asset management tools
