CBRE Hotels is a specialist hotels team providing Asset Management, Investment & Market Advisory, Investment Sales, Operator Selection, and Valuation Services across EMEA.

The Role

To support the CBRE Hotels brokerage team in obtaining and executing brokerage mandates with a medium term aim for the individual to undertake transactions with minimal supervision. Anticipate and identify client needs, work with clients and others to create value-adding solutions, and describe CBRE Hotels services in terms of value to the client. Conduct and document moderate to complex hotel financial analysis, and research and write business development and property marketing documents.

Responsibilities

  • Search for new hotel assignments in the country by establishing relationships with key market leaders and private hoteliers.
  • Prepare appropriate financial projections using proprietary models and / or Excel spreadsheets. Conduct investment analysis for hotel properties using methodologies such as Discounted Cash Flow, Direct Capitalization, Room Revenue Multiplier and Sales Comparison approaches.
  • Participate in pitching processes, leveraging market trends / conditions and CBRE's differentiators to communicate the firm's value proposition.
  • Conduct field visits of properties and submarkets.
  • Organize and facilitate distribution of due diligence materials to potential buyers during asset sale processes.
  • Gather and interpret research data, financial reports, third-party studies, and other due diligence materials per project requirements.
  • Participate in operator selection processes including production of RFP documents and analysis of operator proposals.
  • Co-author proposal documents and marketing materials; within six months, be capable of producing whole or large parts of a report to a high standard.
  • Present preliminary information about hotel opportunities to potential buyers and answer basic questions about due diligence materials.
  • Maintain regular client reporting during marketing efforts and track client intelligence via internal databases.
  • Participate in national or international hotel projects as required, with travel as needed; support internal meetings and maintain understanding of company resources across EMEA and globally.

Key Requirements

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Hotel Management, Economics, Real Estate. Other degrees could be considered.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate and present with confidence and impact.
  • 2-3 years' experience in the hotel or tourism industry preferred; alternative experience in Audit, Banking, or Consultancy can be considered.
  • Strong IT skills, with specific knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish; knowledge of Catalan and French is a plus.
  • Strong financial, analytical, numerical, and quantitative skills; knowledge of hotel financial statements and real estate valuation concepts is strongly preferred.
  • Commercial skills and good communication abilities; strong organization and detail orientation; ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to maintain industry knowledge and represent the firm as international hospitality experts; ability to quickly form professional relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
