Senior SAP ABAP Developer

This is a hybrid role located in Madrid's vibrant city center, ideal for individuals ready to thrive in an innovative environment and contribute to private banking technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop SAP applications using the ABAP programming language
  • Create custom reports, interfaces, and enhancements based on business needs
  • Implement standard and custom enhancements with user exits, BADIs, and enhancement points
  • Integrate SAP modules with internal and external systems
  • Build and maintain interfaces using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and Web Services
  • Provide technical support for SAP applications
  • Resolve technical challenges related to ABAP programs and SAP modules
  • Write detailed technical specifications, design documents, and user guides
  • Document all development work comprehensively
  • Collaborate with functional teams to align business needs with technical solutions
  • Partner with other developers and IT staff to optimize integration and performance
  • Conduct unit testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Adhere to coding standards and best practices
  • Review code to ensure quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an SAP ABAP Developer
  • Proficiency in SAP ABAP programming, including reports
  • Background in SAP modules such as FI, CO, PS, MM
  • Understanding of SAP enhancement techniques like user exits, BADIs, enhancement spots
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori / UI5 development and OData services
  • Knowledge of SAP integration technologies including IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and Web Services
  • Expertise in ABAP Objects and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) in SAP
  • Competency in SAP HANA database and relevant programming methods such as CDS views and AMDP
  • Skills in performance tuning and optimization of ABAP programs
  • Understanding of SAP security concepts and authorizations
  • Flexibility to use SAP S / 4HANA and manage migration projects
  • SAP Developer certification
  • Background in analytical and problem-solving roles
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively at various management levels

  • Proficiency in leading SAP migration projects
  • Expertise in integrating third-party systems with SAP
  • Familiarity with advanced machine learning or AI applications in SAP environments
  • Understanding of non-SAP systems relevant to financial services
