Overview

Alantra is an independent global financial services firm that provides investment banking and asset management services to mid-market companies, families, and investors. The Group has over 500 professionals in Europe, the U.S., Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East.

In Financial Advisory, Alantra has completed over 1,000 transactions in the last five years. Alantra combines a strong local presence in key financial centers with global sector- and product-specialized teams.

In Alternative Asset Management, Alantra offers its clients unique access to a wide range of investment strategies in five highly specialized asset management classes (private equity, active funds, private debt, energy, and venture capital). As of 31 December 2024, assets under management from consolidated and strategic businesses stood at more than €16.5bn.

Job Description

Based in Madrid but with full international exposure, you will work in a highly dynamic, inspiring and challenging environment and become a key member of our Corporate Development & Strategy team.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of five professionals led by the Group COO and work closely with Alantra’s top management, including the Executive Chairman & Group CEO and CFO´s business units.

Your day-to-day tasks will contain a wide range of activities including, among others :

  • Corporate development (in-house M&A team) : Execution of all sorts of transactions (acquisitions, capital increases, JVs, etc.) – more than 30 deals analyzed / executed during 2023). You will analyze companies and draft and review execution documents and other deliverables such as proposals, IM’s, financial models, due diligence and legal contracts. This position will also support the senior team members in meetings with counterparts, deal negotiations, valuation, transaction structuring etc
  • Strategy : Prepare and execute, together with the business divisions, the strategic plans for each of the different business units, including analysis of KPIs and business performance, market dynamics, competitors trends, etc.
  • You will be in charge of preparing presentations for the senior management of the firm (Board of Directors and Executive Committees).
  • Investor relations : support Head of IR attending events with investors, preparing presentations and results and campaign material.

You will need to have exceptional financial modeling and writing skills, a solid experience in financial statements analysis and accounting, experience with legal documents (NDA’s, LOI’s, MoU’s, SHA’s and SPA’s) as well as outstanding communication capacity and people management skills.

Finally, you should act as a role model to junior team members through permanent coaching and training to challenge, develop and empower them. You should also be able to identify and organize junior resources to meet and deliver deadlines focusing on the highest priorities.

Requirements

What you will bring :

  • 3-5 years of strategic consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate development or transaction services experience from tier 1 firms. The professional category will be determined based on candidates’ experience.
  • Strong academic background from top tier Business or Engineering schools.
  • Strong quantitative / analytical skills – proficiency with financial models and knowledge of valuation methodologies.
  • High technical skills, ability to digest large amount of complex information.
  • Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization
  • Capability to drive an independent workstream in the context of a broader team project
  • Committed, rigorous, detail-oriented attitude combined with ability to show initiative and to take decisions.
  • Highest standards of personal conduct, professional performance and business ethics.
  • Complete fluency in English is mandatory (fluency in Spanish is not mandatory).
  • Investor mindset and strong interest in the financial industry (investment banking, asset management, private capital, etc.)
  • Comfort with ambiguous, ever-changing situations
  • Strong financial knowledge (P&L, BS and CF) and understanding of financial statements.
  • Strong academic background from top tier Universities or Engineering Schools.
  • Commitment, rigorous detail-oriented, attitude and ability to show initiative at work, with the ability to contribute with your own ideas.
  • Ability to manage several assignments at once and work equally effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Capable of working under pressure and in a context of shifting priorities.
  • Impeccable communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook.
