Scientific Advisor in Optics
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scientific Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our R&D Team, you will play a crucial role in transforming cutting-edge technical innovations into robust intellectual property assets.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with our R&D and IP Teams to identify and contribute to inventions, prepare detailed invention disclosure forms (IDFs), and analyze patent and scientific literature relevant to Near-Eye Displays (NEDs) to evaluate business strategies.
Write clear, technically concise, and complete invention disclosures (and drawings) for our patent attorneys, as well as summarizing key findings from patent and scientific publications for both patent attorneys and R&D personnel.
Qualifications
Master\'s or PhD degree in Optics, preferably with a focus on NEDs. 2+ years of experience in writing R&D-related technical documentation, scientific publications, or similar in the field of optics, preferably in XR. A professional working level of English is required. Qualification as a US Patent Attorney or US Patent Agent is valuable but not essential.
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of concepts in diffractive optics, refractive optics, wave optics, and polarization optics, as well as working knowledge of optoelectronic components, especially light sources, light modulators, and displays. Familiarity with optical system design is also essential.
Additional desirable skills include a deep understanding of the working principles of NEDs or related systems, working knowledge of optical coatings, optical component manufacturing, compact optical system integration, liquid crystal optical elements, and the ability to perform patent searches.
