Job Title : High Availability System Administrator

About the Role :

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum system availability for electronic trading platforms.

They will work closely with internal stakeholders to manage operational systems and infrastructure.

Responsibilities will include monitoring, maintaining, and supporting underlying Linux, hypervisor, and storage infrastructure.

Request handling and query management will also fall under their remit, requiring excellent communication skills.

Operational guidelines will need to be developed and maintained to support current infrastructure.

Planning and implementing major projects focused around infrastructure architecture will also be a key aspect of this role.

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in managing systems infrastructure is essential.

Strong proficiency in Linux, including Bash, is required.

A solid understanding of data structures & algorithms, e.g. patterns and RESTful APIs, is necessary.

Experience with Python, Ansible, Puppet, and automation tools is highly desirable.

Good network knowledge, e.g. protocols, is also required.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to communicate effectively with diverse colleagues.

Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills are essential qualities for this role.
