Upsilon Global - Streamlining Clinical Trials

Upsilon Global are seeking a Business Development Consultant on behalf of an established Italian CRO looking to expand their client portfolio across Europe.

Our CRO partner has built an established reputation as a reliable and high-quality service provider of clinical trial delivery across Europe, primarily operating trials for US biotechs and small pharmaceuticals. As the business is growing, they are now looking to establish a solid base of European clients to add to the established portfolio of sponsor partners.

Offering global reach through their extended 150+ headcount team, we are seeking a freelance business developer to work closely with the CEO and Director of Clinical Operations in the identification of new leads, RFPs and bid-defence opportunities.

The ideal profile with have direct CRO business development experience, working from prospecting to winning new clinical trial services projects with EU pharma / biotech / medical device companies.

Key Information

Position : Business Development Consultant

FTE : 0.5 fte

Indication : various - focus on European biotech and small / mid-sized pharma sponsors

Start Date : November / December 2025

Location : Homebased, EU

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and attraction of new pharma / biotech / Med Dev sponsors
  • Building and developing strong client networks and relationships
  • Managing existing relationships and accounts
  • Attending summits / conferences
  • Work with SLT to develop and contribute to key business growth objectives
  • Drives to complete relevant goals and metrics for business unit performance management
  • Coordinates and acts on all relevant Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Leads and / or assists in Bid-Defences / RFP's

Qualifications and Experience Desired

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Required : A minimum of 5 years' Business Development experience within the CRO and pharma / biotech industry in Europe
  • Desirable : A proven background in promoting Full-Service CRO services, including clinical monitoring activities
