Lead 2D VFX Artist

We seek a Lead 2D VFX Artist with 5 to 10 years of experience in game animation, particularly focused on frame-by-frame 2D animations and visual effects for mobile games. This role emphasizes 2D artistry over 3D, and you will be responsible for leading the VFX pipeline while ensuring the delivery of high-quality visuals that align with the artistic and gameplay vision. You will work closely with other teams locally in Barcelona and remotely with our client's global teams to ensure seamless integration of VFX assets and foster a collaborative, creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Create visual effects (VFX) from initial concept artwork to final implementation.

Design stylized 2D elements for projectiles, spells, environmental effects, and more.

Efficiently optimize and manage VFX resources.

Collaborate on additional VFX-related tasks, including UI and 2D animation.

Assist throughout the entire game development process.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience as a VFX Artist in the gaming industry, with a focus on stylized 2D character animations.

Solid understanding of 2D skeletal animation techniques.

Basic knowledge of technical art concepts and optimization processes for mobile platforms.

Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.
