Job Description – Backend Developer (PHP / Laravel) (Just spanish residents)

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Developer (PHP / Laravel) to join a fast-growing EdTech company that is building and scaling a next-generation course marketplace platform .

You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative tech team (2 backend + 2 frontend developers) under the guidance of the CTO , contributing to the development, optimization, and maintenance of the company’s core platform.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using PHP / Laravel .

Collaborate with the frontend team (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML) to deliver seamless user experiences.

Optimize and scale the platform’s architecture for performance and reliability.

Integrate external services and APIs.

Write clean, maintainable code with proper documentation and testing.

Contribute ideas and technical improvements to the product roadmap.

️ Requirements

3+ years of professional experience as a Backend Developer.

Strong knowledge of PHP and Laravel .

Good understanding of JavaScript / TypeScript / HTML (for collaboration with frontend).

Solid grasp of relational databases.

Proficiency in English (B2–C1) and Spanish .

Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working in small agile teams.

Nice to Have

Experience working with Microsoft Azure (DevOps, deployment, or cloud services).

Familiarity with RESTful API design and scalable architectures.
