Senior Project Manager – M&A Processes in Renewable Energies (Solar PV, BESS and Onshore Wind)
As a member of the Due Diligence team, the candidate handles managing and executing independent engineering and technical advisory services to support the financing, sale, or acquisition of renewable energy technologies including onshore wind, solar PV and BESS. The candidate should lead key M&A transactions for multi-technology platforms across different countries and be the main point of contact for the client. The role involves coordinating the fulfilment of the project within a TDD process, maintaining close follow-up with customers from kick-off to invoicing, respecting timelines, ensuring project profitability, monitoring customer satisfaction, and driving internal improvements. The candidate is expected to be involved in the execution and review of key areas within the TDD process and to coordinate work to ensure high-quality deliverables. Collaborate with the Sales Team and participate in online and face-to-face customer meetings to provide technical expertise, support proposal preparation on technical aspects when required, and share technical topics through articles, online publications, customer trainings, or live events to promote the service. The position requires a mature candidate with effective communication, project management, and technical skills. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a can-do attitude and the willingness to work hard in a team environment to achieve shared success.
Responsibilities
- Managing and executing technical due diligence processes to support the financing, sale, or acquisition of wind, solar and BESS projects and portfolios, including site overview, turbine technology review, civil and electrical design review, review of commercial and technical contracts (TSA, BOP, EPC, BSA, O&M, LTSA, TCMA, PPA, etc.), project schedule, environmental and permitting process, financial model (DEVEX, CAPEX, OPEX), site visits (development, construction, or operation).
- Compile and complete TDD reports and summarize key results and conclusions. Ensure quality of work that meets and exceeds client expectations. Integrate all review sections from UL Solutions and sub-consultants’ multi-disciplinary team and align results of energy analysis to ensure consistency across sections.
- Perform site visits during construction and operation and conduct monthly construction monitoring site visits to review progress against technical specifications, budget and milestones. Compile and review site visit reports and monthly construction monitoring reports.
- Prepare proposals detailing scope of work, team, budget and schedule for completion.
- Work with customers as the main client interface for UL Solutions. Attend client meetings with lenders and developers as needed. Engage clients and internal staff to develop creative solutions to meet client needs; provide exceptional customer service with a focus on growing client relationships.
- Manage and schedule internal resources and external personnel to ensure project deliverables stay on time, on target, and on budget.
- Prepare communication plans and related project status reports. Facilitate and lead regular status meetings with the internal project team, sponsors, and stakeholders.
- Represent UL Solutions at conferences and business development meetings.
- Ensure use of best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects.
- Mentor and train junior staff and support internal growth of the team.
- Identify project risks, barriers, and issues with a multi-disciplinary team and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support the business strategy and development for the advisory due diligence team.
Qualifications
At least 8–10 years of experience as a project manager in renewable energies due diligence processes, project development, construction, equipment supply, operation or mergers and acquisitions.Demonstrable experience handling utility-scale projects with site overview, design, and familiarity with review of typical contracts and financial models.Good understanding of technology and main equipment in the BOP of wind and solar PV projects, including typical KPIs.Good understanding of the local market with strong connections to key stakeholders in the local industry.Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability; capable of meeting demanding delivery dates and managing multiple complex projects.Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, with senior stakeholder reporting and escalation experience.Experience in anticipating risks and devising in-the-moment solutions.Demonstrable experience on wind onshore, solar and / or BESS.Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical, civil or electrical engineering, environmental engineering, construction management, operations and maintenance, commercial, legal, finance); Master in Renewable Energy is beneficial.Language Skills : English required; additional languages (Polish, Spanish, French, Italian, German) highly desirable.Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel) and openness to digital solutions.What we offer
